Beaver Section:  How Colony Nights Work

When
A Beaver Colony meeting usually lasts for an hour.

The 1st Chalfont St Peter Group has two Beaver Colonies, with meeting times of:

Riverbank Colony

Saturday

9:30 - 10:30am

Dambusters Colony

Thursday

6:00 - 7:00pm

Who
Around 20 Beavers, at least two leaders and a parent or two from a rota system. Sometimes a Scout or Explorer Scout will assist too.

What
Each Colony meeting will usually start with the flagbreak.  Then straight into the action.  The leaders follow the Scout Association's 'Balanced Programme' (detailed here) so the Beavers experience a mixture of activities each week.

The meeting concludes with announcements, a brief thought or prayer and the lowering of the flag.

Sometimes the entire Colony will go for a visit (e.g. to a police station) or on a hike.
